Test Results

You should contact the surgery for your test results unless your GP has specifically asked you to return to see them for the results. Results are usually available 1 week after giving the blood sample.

If you are coming into the surgery or ringing for your results, please contact us in the afternoon when the reception is quieter. Tell the receptionist which tests have been done. We cannot give anyone else your results without your written permission. The receptionist will tell you a comment from your GP.

A comment of “Tell patient satisfactory”, means that the doctor is not concerned about your test result and no further action is needed.

If asked to make an appointment by the receptionist, or if you are unclear about your results or what you should do, please make an appointment with the GP who requested the tests, or your usual GP.

We will try and contact you by post or telephone if a result is abnormal, unless we know you are returning to see your GP to get the results.
